Description:
The primary aims of this project are: a) to determine population size, preferred habitats, and the main threats; b)to increase awareness in the local people, fishermen and authorities;c)to organize educational programs for elementary and high schools;d)to elaborate proposals for mitigating conflicts between seals and local.Species:
Mediterranean Monk Seal (Monachus monachus)Neptune's Sea Grass.

Biologists or Biology students are preferred. Skin diving, computer skills are required.Work:
Volunteers will help recording and sorting out in-cave seal activities. Seal caves will be surveyed and fauna and flora around the seal habitats will be sampled, identified and processed.Language(s):

Depending on the availability of the project house the volunteers may be accommodated in a house free of charge or otherwise in a low-cost pension.Cost:
200 EUR per week, accomodation and food included. Volunteers shall pay for their travel to project site. Students pay special rate based on their submitted proposal.Application:
