Description:
A sanctuary that rescues and rehabilitates native wild animals taken from unsuitable captive environments. Aims of the project include: confiscation of animals from illegal markets; rehabilitation where possible; education and awareness to prevent illegal trading of wildlife.Species:
Wild cats: pumas and ocelots. Monkeys: Capuchins and black spiders. Tropical birds and reptiles.Habitat:

Plane to La Paz or Santa Cruz, then bus to project.Duration:

NDQualifications:
No set qualifications required. Experience with animals is advantageous, as well as carpentry and building skills. Volunteers must be hard working and committed.Work:
Work is physical and includes:maintenance, building cages and fences and clearing forest areas, care and supervision of animals and basic husbandry tasks such as preparing food and cleaning.Language(s):
English, Spanish an advantage.Accommodation:
Basic shared rooms, with communal bathroom and kitchen areas. Personal sleeping bag and mosquito net required.Cost:
Accommodation is US$90 or US$100 (depending on the location) for the first 15 days, then US$3.5-5 daily thereafter. Food is approx. US $5 daily.Application:
