Description:

CEI is an NGO devoted to the conservation of wildlife in Alberta, Canada, through captive breeding for reintroduction of endangered species, habitat inventories, educational programmes, wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and release.

Species:

Swift fox (Vulpes velox) and other wildlife of the Great Plains.

Habitat:

Foothills of the Rockies, short, mixed grass.

Location:

Town of Cochrane, between Banff and Calgary, Alberta.

Travel:

Airplane or bus to Calgary. Transportation from Calgary to project area will be provided.

Duration:

3 - 4 weeks

Min.1 month. Prefer volunteers to stay longer.

Period:

Year round.

Long Term:

There is no limit of time for long-term stays.

Volunteers Age:

ND

Qualifications:

High school diploma, veterinary or biology studies helpful but not necessary and good physical condition.

Work:

Feeding the animals, facility maintenance, assistance with the ecological educational programmes, wildlife record keeping and observation, assistance on wildlife rehabilitation.

Language(s):

English essential.

Accommodation:

Rustic. Accommodation and simple meals are provided.Please visit website for more information.

Cost:

$10 Canadian, approx 6.46 EURO/week

Application:

By e-mail with the subject heading: ‘Volunteer program’; include CV, letter of intentions and possible dates.

Absolutely do not show up at ANY PROJECT without adequate e-mail or telephone correspondence, and properly going through the required application process.
